China Could Block Plastics & Paper from U.S. Recyclers

The recycling industry is in turmoil. China, the world’s largest market for recyclable materials, has announced it will dramatically reduce the amount of mixed paper and plastics it will accept from the U.S. going forward.

This is affecting us here on Orcas, and San Juan County, now—as prices have skyrocketed for the disposal of recyclables.

Shopping days: Thursday, Saturday, & Monday - Facial coverings required; Foot traffic may be limited

The Transfer Station is open normal hours: Thursday-Monday 10am-4pm
