On Saturday, April 20, almost 100 people cared for our islands by picking up 1,940 pounds of trash. The following day, we held the first-annual Earth Day Festival at the Orcas Center — and it was amazing!
We had some incredible silent auction items, delicious food, phenomenal art, and some insightful presentations. The day ended with the Trashion-Fashion Show and DJ Charlie Eon spinning some tunes. The outfits were on-point and did not disappoint (keep an eye on our Instagram and Facebook pages for photos).
Special thanks to OIHS graduating senior/event assistant Chela Mohler, ORS/Exchange board members Asifa Pasin and Marta Nielson for organizing the event, all the sponsors and people who donated items and time, the Orcas Center for hosting, and our amazing community who supports and participates in these great events. We can’t wait for next year’s event!
